The Old Chapel was built over a hundred years ago and is tucked away at the back of a dairy farm. Cows wander past our windows on their way from the sheds to the fields, taking a look through our kitchen window and giving it a slobbery lick as they pass (not so good if you like clean windows!). The Chapel was converted in about 2000 and my son Kim and I moved into what was once the Sunday school in 2007.
It’s a small place and the conversion wasn’t that imaginative; it doesn’t have any original features, but the rooms are light and what it lacks in character it makes up for in other ways. Its seclusion is its biggest asset. And the tiny (aka manageable) south-facing garden. When we arrived none of the previous tenants had done any gardening so I had a blank canvas: a swampy lawn surrounded by some overgrown shrubs and a Cornish hedge. Over the last few years we’ve settled in and begun to try and make this place our home, slowly adding flower borders and a small chicken patch to the garden and making a ‘gentle mark’ on the house. The albums below are a record of our time here so far; hope you enjoy having a peek around!

My collection of old containers is a great way to add some colour to the granite steps up to my garden.[img src=http://www.stephanieboon.co.uk/narrativeself/wp-content/flagallery/old-chapel-garden/thumbs/thumbs_4619063526_af63b01446_z.jpg]ACROSS THE GARDEN

Poor Darcey was taken by a fox, but she enjoyed having a scratch around the garden every day. She was incredibly tame and a real character, I really miss her :(
