GIVEAWAY DATE EXTENDED – THE DRAW WILL NOW BE MADE AT MIDNIGHT ON WEDNESDAY 21st APRIL, just leave a comment to enter!
(The draw will be made on Thursday 22nd and the winner announced on Friday 23rd)
‘Giveaway ‘is when you give something lovely to one of your special readers isn’t it? Just checking, ‘cos I’m new to this you know! This blog is four years old on Friday and this is the first wee giveaway I’ve done. That’s for several reasons: 1. I’ve never had enough readers to make it worthwhile (Less than 5? Erm, maybe that hasn’t changed, but the quality of reader definitely has!!); 2. I never thought anyone would be even remotely interested in what i make! But you, lovely reader/s (!), have persuaded me otherwise! And I really do think I should honour loyalty, as it’s something I truly value. It makes me feel all warm inside when I realise that I have a regular reader or two.
So what shall I give? Well, I thought this:
I’ve had some very positive comments about this cushion (pillow to our American friends), so I thought it would be ideal to get the ball rolling. As you might remember it’s machine pieced and hand quilted. There are some Amy Butler and Kaffe Fassett fabrics included, along with the odd bit of Moda, so it’s 100% cotton (with 100% polyester wadding) and easily washable. It will fit a 16″ cushion. I’ll send just the cover, as it seems a bit mad to try and fit the inner in the post box too.
So what do you have to do to win it? Well, I thought long and hard about this (he, he) and came up with the idea that you could tell me what you think is the best bit about this blog (hopefully there’ll be something!). Just leave your thoughts and your name in a comment and you’ll be entered into the draw, woohoo! I’ll make the draw on Monday 19th Thursday 22nd April at midnight!, so don’t forget – and feel free to spread the word too.
Inspired by Jo at Bearpaw, who’s celebrating her 50th post with a fantastic giveaway this week, I thought I’d offer another prize too. So I’ll enter any readers that make a link to my cushion cover giveaway on their blog, into a separate draw for a second prize! I’m going to keep the prize a secret though, ‘cos I thought that would be fun too (not because I don’t know what it is yet, cheeky
). I’ll drop a few tantalizing hints over the next few days to keep you guessing, so don’t forget to come back! Just leave a note in a comment to let me know that you’d like to be entered for the ‘mystery prize’ too, along with a link to your post. Such a great way to discover new blogs, thanks Jo, you’re a genius!
Love Stephie x

I just recently found your blog. I’ve enjoyed reading about and seeing the area you live. I also enjoy your quilts and crafts and the lovely fabric you use. Amy Butler and Kaffe Fassett are some of my favorite designers. Thanks for the chance to win the lovely pillow cover – it is beautiful!
Thank you Elizabeth, nice to meet you
Your name is the first in the pot, good luck!
Hi Stephie – very impressed with 4 years! I am relatively new to your blog, but have enjoyed getting to know you a bit through it and hearing about what you are up to. I like seeing your sketches and best of all your quilts and cushions. You are being very generous giving away such a lovely prize. I have just posted my own giveaway (coincidentally!) but will see if I can shoehorn a bit in about yours too!
Hi Stephie, Just found your blog. Jo Avery sent me over! and I am glad I did. I enjoyed having a look around. Lovely things you make! Thanks for including me in the giveaway!
Hi Steph
Have been following your blog for a few months now. It’s unpretentious, honest, open and generous. It shows me a person living life – through good times and through some rough times.
A creative, artistic and beautiful person shines through.
Becky x
Well Becky me dear, you won the surprise second prize – one of my scented hearts! Hope you’ll like it
Hi Steph,
why do I visit? the creativity, the truth, the talent, the vulnerabilty… that’s why!!
I absolutely love to visit your blog. I think you are an incredibly talented woman and I love the things you make. So many blogs are just too happy. I adore your honesty and thank you for sharing of yourself…!! What I truly love about your blog is your willingness to share life…the good and the bad. Thank you so much for this and also for this dreamy giveaway!
…Victoria
Victoria, I’m really pleased to tell you that you won the draw and the cushion will be on it’s way to you as soon as I’ve got your address!
Hi Stephie, love the idea of a ‘mystery prize’! How exciting! Hopefully my wee mention of your giveaway in my post will count as an entry to the second prize. Oh and the following thing, I think it is just a more public way of subscribing, it just came up when I set up my blog and I didn’t really question it. When I go to my google reader it just has a list of ‘blogs I’m following’ followed by ‘subsriptions to posts’ (I don’t even now what rss feed is but presume it is the same as subscriptions). Oh, we’re all so confused!!
My retro orange rocking/arm chair is creaking with yearning at how well that cushion will match it
I come and read your blog because you do lots of cool, arty things that I can’t and you give me intelligent insight into things like depression.
i would love to win your lovely cushion
its like a little nugget of sunshine!!
Your cushion is beautiful and would be treasured and a reminder of my favourite part of the universe! If I cannot be with you in Cornwall it is lovely touching base with you and sharing your walks and life, your crafts and the wonderful photographs of my favourite places. So glad I found you when I googled quilting and St Agnes
You are a very talented lady and I’m sooooooooooooo coming to see you in the summer hols…. if you’ll have me!? XXX
I’ve followed your blog for a while now sharing the good times and the bad. I admire both your honesty and your creativity and would love to win the cushion which is fab. You are one talented lady.

I’ve not been visiting your blog for long although I have known you for a while. I remember you once saying that you are most happy when you are creating and I guess the meduim doesn’t really matter as long as it’s stimulating and engaging.
I visit here for the vibrant colours and the striking imagery. It’s not always easy art to observe – I’ve always said that whatever you make requires a certain commitment from the viewer which is sometimes minimal, sometimes uncomfortable but always rewarding.
Here’s to another 4 years.

Ahhh, as you keep asking so nicely or is that insisting, I’ll play.
What’s the best bit about your blog ? The art, the creativity, the honesty, or just the general craziness of normal life?
Well, I pop along here to see how you’re doing and every now and again you post up an artwork that truly makes my jaw drop and I smile, reminded of what a great talent you have.
Take care hon x
I am truly humbled by all your lovely, positive comments. Thank you so much. For once I’m a bit speechless, so I’ll quickly change the subject!!
This might actually be turning into more of an exciting draw now, don’t you think?! Sorry if you feel coerced into it, but I know you’ve been lurking and hoped you were just feeling a bit shy! I’m sure there are a few more of you out there that I could persuade to join in, so come on, just say hi! That’s all you need to do, and it would make me such a happy camper to hear from you
Your inate gift of making me smile too late for the comp but had to post
You’re not too late Jo, the draw is going to be tomorrow now (Thursday 22nd)
And thanks for your lovely comment!
