Birthday bunting

I made Kim some bunting last week, for his 11th birthday of course, but now it’s hanging very proudly above his bed!  As I was sewing away at this, it occured to me that just a few weeks before, I’d seen my good friend Chantal making some pirate bunting for her wee grandson; could this be ‘plagiarism’ by osmosis, I asked myself?  I do apologise and thank her most graciously for the idea – Kim was very pleased.

Mmmmmmm!

Mmmmmmm!

Fabrics were bought at charity shops (shirting) and the tape is manufactured by East of India.  As an aside, I used to know John Spratling and Anne Ayris of East of India (we always seemed to have stands next to each other at trade shows) and it makes me very nostalgic whenever I see their wares in my local shop!  They were such lovely people and I’m really pleased that they’ve gone from strength to strength – so go buy their tape to make your own bunting!  (There’s a HUGE choice of designs.)
