The
series of drawings Poor Baby (below) was made for the
exhibition and continued to explore "the intagibility of what it
is that makes us who we are". Most of the birds drawn for the exhibition
were found in the artist's garden (not far from the ferry itself) and
reveal her sense of awe in holding something so elusive and fragile in
her hands. The drawings were printed on self-adhesive vinyl and glued
to the walls of the ferry, which are open to the elements. In this process
she considered the glued birds, symbol of freedom, mirroring her consciousness
of being stuck in the geographically remote county of Cornwall. |
