THE BLACK ALBUM
2001, 215mm x 303mm, 30 pages
Includes photographs, original drawings and texts in conte

This work is a unique book about cylces. It begins with the death of a goldfinch and ends with the death of a thrush. As well as the lifecycle of the birds, the work considers cycles within the family and how one generation's behaviour can act as a template for others. The artist uses images of her own family and draws on personal events to create a poignant, contemplative work.

(NB some of the original drawings and texts in the book are black on black, therefore are not featured below)
